Puck Rockin'

Have you always wanted to tell some politician to "get the puck out of here"? Well, for some Canadian rock stars they will get that chance. In what is sure to be one of the most entertaining hockey games in history Canadian rock stars take on some of the country's ruling class – the politicians for the Beaver Cup on February 21 in Puck Rockin'.

The rockers team appropriately named the Rock Jocks is being coached by Grant Dexter of Maple Music. Passing the puck will be team captain Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo, Doc Walker, The Jim Bryson Band, Pilate, The Cash Brothers, Skydiggers, the Cowboy Junkies, and Not By Choice.

Sharing the ice are the political leaders known as the House Members which are coached by Elsie Wayne. Wayne will be leading team captain Peter McKay, Paul Devillers, Defense Minister David Pratt, Rahim Jaffer, and Gary Schellenberger among other political leaders in what we hope will be a fair game. Although, there may be some potential for dirty tricks in the game by the House Members.

The rockers are putting on a show after the game. The game for the Beaver Cup will be at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec on February 21. Tickets are $18 for adults and $14 for children. Proceeds from the game benefit Sage Youth, the Herbie Fund, and Maison Libere-Elles.
