Grand Theft Bus Tour East Coast

Published: 2005-08-03
Grand Theft Bus hails from the Maritimes, Southern New Brunswick to be precise. They started in 2000, released Birth of Confusion and toured relentlessly across Canada. Five years together and 400 shows under their belt (or wheel as the case may be), have seen this band garner a reputation for being one of Canada's most experimental live acts.

Their shows have received great reviews from fans and critics alike, the vast landscape of their music instantly hits a chord in the mind of musicians and the average listener. Their latest tour is in support of the band's second album Flies in the No Fly.

They have shared stages with The Constantines, The Rheostatics, The New Deal and are currently on tour with Burt Neilson Band. This year, they graced Toronto's El Mocambo on July 15 to a sold out crowd who danced and sang the night away to every song.

Their style is rather hard to define, and that's exactly how the band wants things to be, they are concerned about making "boundary-free original music". They take their studio songs to a new level on-stage, never fearing to push the limit and length of a song. There are elements of rock, blues and pop mixed alongside some rather psychedelic keyboard noises and effects. So perhaps this is just one good bunch of musicians who know just how to play, and play it right.

The Bus boys have some dates lined up for Nova Scotia, PEI and Fredericton in August and September. Check out for more details.
