Fake Stones Tickets Found in Moncton

Published: 2005-07-28
Fans of the Rolling Stones in Moncton, NB, should be wary if planning to purchase tickets for the September 3rd show at Magnetic Hill. Fake tickets have been reportedly confiscated by Police from a home where a template used for printing the bogus tickets was also found. "The quality of the tickets are very, very poor," said Constable Michel Mercier. Mercier stated that anyone who really inspects the tickets should be able to notice the difference. The fake ones are smoother, thinner, and the ink isn't as dark. Real tickets are printed on special paper and have secret codes that officials can scan for authenticity.

The Rolling Stones are currently in Toronto rehearsing for their tour that will touch down in Boston on Aug. 21 and return to Canada on Aug. 28 for their show in Ottawa. The Stones Toronto show is scheduled for Sept. 26 at the Rogers Centre.
