The Novaks' Debut Looms Nearer

Published: 2005-07-26
As previously reported on Soul Shine, Newfoundland quartet the Novaks are preparing to release their debut full-length out into the world on August 9th. Details on the self-titled effort have surfaced, including word on the first single, which is "Goodbye Rock and Roll Band" (hopefully a non-prophetic track).

According to the Novaks' website ( a video for the song should already be sitting on some desk at the nation's music station. When the Kyle Davidson-made (Sam Roberts, Matthew Good) promo makes it to air is another matter; go to the band's site to hear the single now.

The 12 tracks of The Novaks play out like this:

"No One Quite Like You"
"If You Can Do It"
"I'll Give You A Ring"
"Don't Worry Baby"
"Doesn't Anybody Hear It"
"Goodbye Rock and Roll Band"
"Man By The Door"
"It's A Shame"
"Off My Mind"
"You Don't Have To Hang Around"

The rockers will be spending the first week of August touring their home province with fellow Canucks the Sam Roberts Band. There doesn't appear to be any plans for the Novaks to hit the mainland anytime soon, but who really knows for sure (probably the band themselves).

Catch the Novaks rocking out with Sam Roberts:

August 1, St John's, NL - Prince Edwards Plaza
August 2, Marystown, NL - Marystown Arena
August 4, Grand Falls, NL - Joe Byrne Arena
August 5, Harbour Breton, NL - Connaigre Arena
August 6, Clarenville, NL - Clarenville Stadium
