Long John Baldry Dies

Published: 2005-07-25
Blues musician Long John Baldry was noted for many things in the music industry some of which include recording the first British blues album R&B From the Marquee back in 1962, and for performing in a band called Bluesology that Elton John (formerly Reginald Dwight) performed in with Baldry. He is also known as the voice of Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic the Hedgehog video games and TV series.

Baldry became a permanent Canadian citizen in 1980 when he settled in Vancouver that year. Baldry has died at Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 64 this past Thursday after battling severe chest infection for four months; Soul Shine Magazine sends prayers to the friends and family of this musical legend.
