46664 concert on CD/DVD

The concert that was broadcast around the world will soon be available on CD and DVD. The 46664 concert on November 29, 2003 drew over 40,000 fans to Cape Town, South Africa to see rock 'n' roll artists from across the planet perform. The concert was created to promote AIDS Awareness.

On April 5 three separate CDs and a DVD from the concert will be released. The DVD is a two disc package that contains the press conference held by Nelson Mandela announcing the concert, a photo gallery, some short films on AIDS, artist interviews, and a behind the scenes documentary; as well as concert footage.

Each CD contains songs by the various artists who performed at the concert, both solo and collaborations. Disc 1 is called "African Prayer". Disc 2 is called "Long Walk to Freedom". And disc 3 is called "Amandla". Disc number two also contains the speech made by Nelson Mandela at the concert. Artists who performed at the World AIDS Day concert and are on the CDs include the Eurythmics, Beyonce, Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens), Peter Gabriel, Bob Geldof, the Coors, Jimmy Cliff, Bono, and the surviving members of Queen.
