Sigur RŪs Releases Album Details

Published: 2005-07-21
Word of a new Sigur RŪs album has been floating around for a good while, and now the details are starting to pour out. The Icelandic space rockers have named the album takkÖ, which means "thank you" in Icelandic; it's due to hit stores on September 11th.

Complete with 11 songs, takkÖ comes with a track list full of titles unpronounceable by the majority of the world. But unlike the group's last release, at least the new disc has a normal track list, and it goes a little something like this:

"takk..."
"glŪsŪli"
"hoppĢpolla"
"me∂ blŪ∂nasir"
"sČ lest"
"sŹglŪpur"
"mĢlanŪ"
"gong"
"andvari"
"svo hljŪtt"
"heys·tan"

The band will be supporting takkÖ all around the globe, with Sigur RŪs finishing things off with a jaunt around North America this summer. As long as any tickets last for the shows, you'll find them at Ticketmaster.

Canadian stops on Sigur RŪs's world tour run like this:

September 16, Montreal, QC - ThȂtre Maisonneuve
September 18, Ottawa, ON - Bronson Centre
September 19, Toronto, ON - Massey Hall
September 27, Vancouver, BC - Orpheum Theatre
