Antony Brings the Johnsons to Canada

Published: 2005-07-21
Earlier this week Antony and the Johnsons gained 20 cred points by being short-listed for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize. Perhaps because they're barely British (Antony was born in the UK, but grew up in California), the indie pop band has only been given a 12-to-1 chance of winning by the British bookies.

However, that doesn't stop the critically acclaimed band from touring. Hiding out in Europe for the majority of July, Antony and the Johnsons will be playing a one-off date in New York City at the end of the month. But when September rolls around, a few more North American cities will be getting the same treatment.

Antony's September tour in support of I Am A Bird Now includes just four performances so far, and funnily enough, two are in Canada. First up will be Vancouver on September 15th, followed by Montreal on September 29th. For all of the band's dates visit
