Pixies Planning To Record New Album

Published: 2005-07-18
Alternative rockers The Pixies are planning to record their first
full-length studio album in over fourteen years. Lead singer Black Francis
confirmed reports recently saying, "We have been discussing recording a new
album lately. As happy as we are with the success of the reunion tour, we
really want to make a record for the right reasons, whether it is successful
commercially or not."

The Pixies reformed last year after a bitter break up in the early nineties
and released a hits compilation supported by a successful tour. Since being
back together the band has recorded two songs, "Bam Thok", which was
released as a download single and a cover of Warren Zevon's "Ain't That
Pretty At All."

The Pixies will be in Europe next month to headline the Carling Weekend:
Reading and Leeds Festivals, which runs August 26-28.
