Bloc Party Recording Follow Up to 'Silent Alarm'

Published: 2005-07-15
It's only been five months since Bloc Party released their debut album, Silent Alarm, but the British indie rockers have already started to record the follow-up. "Its strange for us because the albums very old in our eyes," said guitarist Russell Lissack about the band's first album. "I mean even before it was out we were writing a lot of new stuff, so it helps us to get new things out."

Around twenty-five songs are ready to be recorded and as of now two tracks titled "Hero" and "Two More Years" have been completely finished after a week was spent in the studio. Producer Paul Epworth, who produced the first album, is producing some of songs but the band is planning on bringing in different producers to expand their sound.

The band is in Germany today playing the Berlin Melt Festival.
