Komasket Music Festival Ready To Go

Published: 2005-07-14
The fourth annual Komasket Music Festival will be ready to go as scheduled this August and will feature such performers as Tabarruk, Donna Makeda, Freeflow, the Rubber Maids, and Norma Fellows, among others. The festival takes place August 5th to 7th at Komasket Park in Vernon, BC, with proceeds going to the BC Native Women's Society.

The Komasket Music Festival was originally set up as a way to bring community together through First Nations culture and high quality music and dance in a peaceful, healing environment. Forest fires in the Okanagan forced organizers to cancel the 2003 event, but they reconvened the festival last year.

Performers that have played the festival before include Kinnie Starr, D'talle, Samsara, the Young'uns, Opening Axe, Madisen, and many more. For more information on the festival, check out komasketmusicfestival.com.

Just wanted to thank the writer for even mentioning me. Brought a smile across my face. I hope Devaki is doing well with Komasket. I've been trying to get back into singing old school Jazz through the Old Fire Hall in Rossland.
All the best and thanks again to Mr. Trent Mcmartin
