The Band in a Box Set

Legendary rock and roll group the Band is releasing a new career-spanning box set, A Musical History, this fall. The set's executive producer is guitarist Robbie Robertson, and it features five CDs and one DVD encompassing the Band's entire recording career from 1963 to 1976. A 108-page hardcover book with unseen photos and memorabilia accompanies the discs. Out of the 111 audio and video tracks, 37 are previously unreleased recordings and film clips captured on stage and in the studio.

"This is by far the most comprehensive, in-depth, and beautifully put together collection of the Band's musical journey," says Robertson. The unreleased material will also include studio recordings the Band created with Bob Dylan and Ronnie Hawkins and three songs they performed on "Saturday Night Live" in 1976.

The Band broke up in 1976 but reformed numerous times with various lineups over the years. Pianist and vocalist Richard Manuel committed suicide in 1986, and bass player and vocalist Rick Danko passed away in his sleep in 1999.

Are Levon and Garth going to make any money off this? Robbie should be ashamed of himself for ripping off his fellow band members all these years.

Another shameless attempt to rake in cash by Robbie Robertson. How does this washed up creep sleep at night having ripped off all of the other members of The Band?

Didn't Levon Helm die recently of cancer?
