Bec Abbot Releases 'Not so Hip'

Published: 2005-07-07
Kitchener, Ontario's Bec Abbot is back in the studio recording her next CD release Not So Hip. Once again she has teamed up with producer Roy Salmond of Whitewater Productions in British Columbia.

If you didn't buy her debut album Shine Like Stars you will want to jump all over this sophomore production. It promises to be a musical treat as she has once again assembled a good supporting cast. Salmond also sits in on guitar and keys, while Phil Robertson returns on drums with Tony Lind on guitar, Robin Pirson on percussion, and Dave Olsen as the bassist.

When contacted in British Columbia Bec said she is taking a more active role in the production of this album. She attributes that to the experience of recording her debut project and the fact that she has matured both as an artist and a person.

The album which is scheduled for a November 1st release date has two songs that Bec is particularly fond of making. Stephanie is a song that talks about an extraordinary woman who has a less than positive experience with the church.

She says, "Not So Hip, the title track is a little tongue in cheek. I have a good look at myself here."
