U2's Bono Gets Hat Back

A judge ruled recently that former stylist for Irish rock band U2 must return a number of items she claimed the band gave her as gifts after the U.S. leg of U2's 1987 tour. Former stylist Lola Cashman was ordered to hand over the property within a week.

The band filed the lawsuit after they discovered Cashman tried to sell the items, which included Bono's famous Stetson hat that he wore on the 1987 Joshua Tree tour, at a London auction house in 2002. Cashman then furthered angered the band by releasing the book "Inside the Zoo With U2: My Life With the World's Biggest Rock Band."

In his testimony, Bono described the hat as an "iconic" item in U2 history and something he would never give away. The judge also ordered Cashman to return over 200 photographs she took of the band members, which he said violated her confidentiality agreement with U2.
