Death Cab For Cutie Make 'Plans' For August

Published: 2005-07-06
Sitting at the height of indie rock stardom, Washington quartet Death Cab For Cutie are about to put out what may very well be the biggest album of their career. Titled Plans, the 11-track record it the follow-up to the band's breakthrough Transatlanticism, released in 2003.

Hitting stores on August 30th, Plans was produced by guitarist Chris Walla, and will be Death Cab For Cutie's very first album for a major label. Picked up by Atlantic, fans of the band will have to wait and see if a truck load of money has any effect on Death Cab's sound.

The track-listing of Plans looks like this:

"Marching Bands of Manhattan"
"Soul Meets Body"
"Summer Skin"
"Different Names for the Same Thing"
"I Will Follow You Into The Dark"
"Your Heart Is An Empty Room"
"Someday You Will Be Loved"
"Crooked Teeth"
"What Sarah Said"
"Brothers on a Hotel Bed"
"Stable Song"

There are just a few performances scheduled for Death Cab's summer, including a spot at New York's annual Central Park Summer Stage festival and Street Scene in San Diego. For those who won't be able to catch the band live this summer, they can do the next best thing and pick up the recently released Drive Well, Sleep Carefully: On The Road With Death Cab For Cutie DVD.
