Final Fantasy Goes Nonstop, Then Disappears

Published: 2005-06-24
Fans of Toronto indie favourite Final Fantasy (a.k.a. Owen Pallett) had better catch the quirky singer-songwriter live this summer, because the next chance might not come for a long while. Exactly what Pallett will be doing come autumn is a bit of mystery, but what he's up to this summer definitely isn't.

A typically busy indie musician, Pallett has ten shows scheduled around central Canada this summer playing alongside some pretty swanky artists. Known the world over as the Arcade Fire's special guest, Final Fantasy will trade in that position and instead grace the same stage as Xiu Xiu, Great Lake Swimmers, and Stars.

While most artists are content to support their debut long-player for a few years (Pallett's Has a Good Home came out this past February), Final Fantasy already has plans for two new 7"s. The four-song Young Canadian Mothers and three-song The George Cedric Metcalf Foundation will both see light this summer.

For more information on the upcoming Final Fantasy 7"s, and a possible explanation of Pallett's fall disappearance, go to finalfantasyeternal.com.
