KISS Store Bites the Dust

Published: 2005-06-23
Rock band KISS has canned its retail store, KISSWORLD, before it had even opened for business. The Melbourne, Australia, shop was a joint venture between KISS and Melbourne-based paper goods manufacturer World of Stars.

Originally slated to open in November of last year, the 10,000-square-metre Melbourne store was to stock band merchandise, including a museum of stage outfits, a cinema featuring rare KISS footage, a cafÈ, and wall of fame.

"It is devastating to see the project coming to an end, not only in terms of the financial loss to us but also the energy and passion that has gone into it," said KISSWORLD directors Robert Manuele and Peter Hoffman in a written statement.

All items from the store will be up for sale, so fans can log onto to get more details. The sale began yesterday and continues to July 17th.
