The Posies to Release First Album in Seven Years

Published: 2005-06-23
Seattle's the Posies are getting back together and releasing their first new album since 1998. The 12-track CD, entitled Every Kind of Light, features tunes with a familiar Posies ring ("All in a Day's Work" and "I Guess You're Right") as well as newer, different sounding material ("Anything and Everything").

The band broke up in 1998 after ten years together and a string of critically acclaimed albums, including 1993's Frosting on the Beater and 1996's Amazing Disgrace. The band's current roster comprises original members Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow as well as newcomers bassist Matt Harris and drummer Darius Minwalla.

The new album is being described as the Posies' most "mature" to date.
