Billy Corgan to Un-smash his Pumpkins

Published: 2005-06-22
Billy Corgan just recently released his first solo album, The Future Embrace, but the Gen-X rocker wants his old band back. Corgan took out a full-page ad in yesterday's Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times announcing his intentions to reunite the Smashing Pumpkins, one of the top rock acts of the 90s.

"I want you to be among the first to know that I have made plans to renew and revive the Smashing Pumpkins," Corgan wrote in the ad. "I want my band back, and my songs, and my dreams."

The ad revealed few details about the reunion, not mentioning anything about former members James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, original bassist D'Arcy Wretzky, or her replacement, Canadian musician Melissa Auf der Maur.

The Future Embrace hit shelves yesterday.
