Metric Returns to Canada

Published: 2005-06-22
They've been busy living the dream, travelling the world promoting their breakthrough album, Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?. Taking a lot of time to scour Europe, where the record was just released, Toronto-based quartet Metric seems about ready to come home.

The band is returning with a bang, starting its summer off by sharing the stage with indie rock heroes Modest Mouse in Montreal. The next day Metric brethren Broken Social Scene will join the mix for an all-star lineup at Toronto's Olympic Island on June 26th.

Not confining themselves to central Canada, Emily Haines and co. will head out to the far eastern edge of the country, playing Prince Edward Island's Shoreline Festival at the beginning of July. Odds are the band is looking to start recording the follow-up to 2003's Old World; check for constant updates.

Give Metric a warm welcome home here:

June 25, Montreal, QC - Stage Uniprix-Centre
June 26, Toronto, ON - Olympic Island
July 7, Rollo Bay, PEI - Shoreline Festival
July 9, Ottawa, ON - Ottawa Bluesfest
