Great Lake Swimmers Play US Shows

Published: 2005-06-21
Canadian folk act Great Lake Swimmers will be playing a handful of shows in the U.S. to promote their recent album, Bodies and Minds. The band will be in Bloomington, Indiana, on June 22nd, Chicago, Illinois, on the 23rd, and Madison, Wisconsin, June 25th, opening for Andrew Bird at the CafÈ Montmartre. They recently toured Ontario, with a stop in Toronto on June 12th at the Drake Hotel.

Led by singer-songwriter Tony Dekker, the Great Lake Swimmers have been attracting some attention with their new album, which was recorded in a church in Long Beach, Ontario. The CD is a soft, introspective, roots-oriented country rock album similar to their 2003 self-titled debut record.
