Arthur Magazine has added indie rock band Sonic Youth to the bill of its inaugural ArthurFest, which takes place September 4th and 5th at Barnsdall Art Park in Los Angeles. Other acts playing the event include Olivia Tremor Control, Sleater-Kinney, T-Model Ford, Merzbow, Six Organs of Admittance, Sunburned Hand of the Man, the Juan Maclean, Josephine Foster, Dead Meadow, Cat Power, Wolfmother, Black Keys, and Comets on Fire.
Other than music, the festival will offer screenings of avant-garde films and a T-Model Ford booth where the legendary bluesman will dispense his take on a variety of issues. Arthur Magazine is setting up similar events September 1st through 3rd at such Los Angeles venues as Spaceland, Echo, and the Vanguard Theatre.
Two-day passes for the event go on sale this week on Ticketweb and at various Los Angeles-area music stores.
