Moses Mayes Celebrates Five Years

Published: 2005-06-20
Launching a seriously major tour of Canada yesterday, Moses Mayes will play 28 shows across the country before August rears its head. Starting off in their home town of Winnipeg, the seven-member band will head east to Ontario and Quebec for six shows before turning right around and booking it for the West Coast.

Not limiting themselves to the Great White North, Moses Mayes will make a few stops south of the border, playing Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco before wrapping the month-long jaunt on July 31st in Gimli, Manitoba.

All of this running about comes as Moses Mayes marks five years as a band. During their time together, the funk band has released two full-length albums: a self-titled debut in 2000, and June 2004's Needle to the Groove.
