Film Rights Secured for Tim and Jeff Buckley Story

Writer-producer Train Houston has secured the rights to David Browne's 2001 book Dream Brother: The Lives & Music of Jeff and Tim Buckley and has written a script for a possible movie.

Tim Buckley recorded nine studio albums and wrote such tunes as "Morning Glory" and "Song to the Siren" over his short career before dying of a 1978 heroin overdose at the age of 28. Son Jeff released the critically acclaimed 1994 album Grace, but his career was cut short when he accidentally drowned in Memphis in 1997, aged 30.

Jeff Buckley will be the focus of the movie, with father Tim appearing in flashbacks. Last year Sony BMG's catalogue line, Legacy, released an expanded two-disc version of Grace.
