Big & Rich Set Sights on November

Published: 2005-06-13
Quickly becoming one of the hottest country acts around, Nashville's Big & Rich are putting an extraordinary amount of thought into the release of their sophomore effort. Following up the highly successful Horse of a Different Color, the as-yet-untitled effort is due to hit shelves on November 8th, a significant day to the duo: the lead-off single happens to be called "The 8th of November".

Speaking to Billboard.com, singer John Rich explained that the song is about a friend of theirs, a Vietnam veteran, whose platoon sustained an attack on that date in which most of his fellow soldiers were slaughtered. November 8th, 2005, will be the 40th anniversary of the event. Oddly enough, Big & Rich didn't even have to pull any strings to have the new record released on the special date, because it also happens to be a Tuesday.

Before any new albums come out, however, Big & Rich still have a whole slew of tour dates ahead of them. There happens to be one Canadian stop lined up: Big & Rich will hit the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta, on July 31st.
