Radiohead Confirms Reports of New Album

Published: 2005-06-10
Lead singer Thom Yorke recently confirmed that British rock band Radiohead has indeed been in the studio recording the follow-up to 2003's Hail to the Thief, as Soul Shine reported last week.

"It's going well. It's a bit like Kid A," the usually restrained Yorke told NME.com, comparing the current studio sessions with those for the band's 2000 release. "We're going through a period of change. But that's good. We'll get there." Songs confirmed to appear on the new album include "Reckoner," "Glass Flowers," "House of Cards," and "Arpeggi."

Radiohead turned down an offer recently to appear at the London edition of Live 8 due to other commitments. The Live 8 concerts, taking place July 2nd in Berlin, London, Paris, Philadelphia, and Rome, aim to put pressure on the leaders of the G8 nations, the world's most economically powerful countries, to cancel third world debt, increase aid and implement fair trade.
