The Dears to Record New Album

Published: 2005-06-08
Montreal-based rock band The Dears are planning to record a new album in the late summer or early fall. The new album will be the follow up to 2004's critically acclaimed No Cities Left.

About 12 songs are currently in production, including "Gang of Losers," "Hate Then Love," "High Above a Lake of Fire," and "Raise the Dead", all of which the group has included in its live set recently.

The band is promising a happier sound, steering away from the melancholy vibes that emanated from its last record. The group tours until mid-July, playing a couple of Canadian gigs in Toronto (June 10th at the Phoenix Concert Hall) and Ottawa (July 14th as part of the Ottawa Blues Festival) before heading into the studio.
