Ben Harper, Life After Zooma

Published: 2005-06-08
Originally slated to appear on the ill-fated Zooma Tour, New Age folkie Ben Harper has decided to go it alone on a small-venue tour of North America. Spending nearly all of July on the road, Harper and his band, the Innocent Criminals, will hit 18 cities, two of which happen to be classified as Canadian.

Roped in to open all the shows is Tom Freund, a long-time friend of Harper's and singer-songwriter from New York City. Tickets for the July 12th Vancouver show go on pre-sale today, with the general public gaining access on the 18th, all for about $46. Same goes for the Toronto gig at hob.ca, except the general sale begins one day earlier and tickets are a fiver cheaper.

According to Harper's official website (benharper.net), this will be the singer-songwriter's last proper tour before the release of his next record. Harper's most recent studio release was September 2004's collaboration with the legendary Blind Boys of Alabama, There Will Be A Light.

July 12, Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
July 23, Toronto, ON - Kool Haus
