Casiotone for the Painfully Alone Reactivates

Published: 2005-06-07
Taking it as lo-fi as it'll go, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone (a.k.a. Owen Ashworth) will return from the land of silence with the release of a limited edition single this month. Part of Tomlab Records' "Alphabet Series," Ashworth's Alphabet Series - G consists of two previously released songs.

Recorded with strings and drums, A-side "Roberta C. (Version)" gets backing from "The Subway Home (Version)." You can buy one of just 500 copies from www.tomlab.de.

It's been nearly two years since Casiotone for the Painfully Alone put out any music, and it looks like 2005 will be his turn around year. According to Tomlab's site, Ashworth plans to put out a new EP this fall, with his fourth full-length record to follow in early 2006. Before that, however, Ashworth will spend June touring North America.

Kicking off this Thursday in Oakland, California, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone will hit 10 cities on the West Coast. Canada happens to have a major city situated out there; Ashworth will play Vancouver June 19th at Blim.
