Coming from the increasingly strong East Coast scene, Newfoundland's The Novaks are set to look around the mainland this month. Starting it all off with a coveted spot at this year's North by Northeast in Toronto this Thursday, the up-and-comers will make their way around southern Ontario, hopping over to Quebec for a one-off show in Montreal June 15th.
And by way of The Novaks comes news that the Sam Roberts Band will return from the land down under this summer in a big way. The Novaks will be supporting the band for five early August Newfoundland gigs, which makes us wonder how many dates the rest of the country can expect. Roberts and co. were in Australia recording the follow-up to We Were Born in a Flame, and it looks like they've got the beginnings of a nice cross-Canada tour up their sleeves (let's hope).
When they're not touring around the country, The Novaks are working away on their full-length debut. There's word that the self-titled effort will hit shelves on August 9th, but things do change.
