Barenaked Lady Steven Page Rolls Alone

Published: 2005-05-31
Most people know him best as a member of comedic rock band Barenaked Ladies, but Steven Page also has some solo tricks up his sleeve. His first collection of solo work is due to hit stores next month, on June 21st to be exact. Coyly called The Vanity Project, the album features 12 tracks from the lead singer.

Not just a pretty face, Page wrote the song "So. Cal" all by himself, and the other 11 tracks he co-wrote with former Duran Duran member Stephen Duffy, who is currently a producer. This isn't the first time Page and Duffy have put their heads together; the pair have written many BNL standards, including "Jane" and "Alternative Girlfriend."

One of Canada's most beloved mainstream acts both at home and abroad, Barenaked Ladies have been on the scene since the very early '90s. They released their latest studio album, Everything To Everyone, in October of 2003.

Here's the track list of The Vanity Project, a.k.a. Steven Page loves himself:

"Hit & Run"
"Wilted Rose"
"These Wasted Words"
"So. Cal"
"That's All, That's All"
"Everything's the Same"
"Thank You For Sharing"
"Baby Loves the Radio"
"By the Roadside"
"So Young So Wrong So Long"
"Here Today and Yesterday"
