Check Out Carole King's 'Living Room'

Published: 2005-05-27
With the cooperation of quite a few record labels, legendary singer-songwriter Carole King will release a double live album this summer. The record will bear the same name as the 2004 tour the recordings come from: The Living Room Tour. The release will include a whopping 27 songs, all performed acoustically for that "living room" feel.

Almost a career retrospective, The Living Room Tour sees King dip into all parts of her 40 year career, including songs from her landmark album Tapestry all the way through to two new songs called "Loving You Forever" and "Welcome to My Living Room." Coffee addicts can get the double disc set starting July 12th at any Starbucks, and the rest can get it at a regular music store.

The Living Room Tour aimed to bring live performance back to basics, creating a more intimate experience for both King and her audience. It seems King was pleased with the arrangement, for the tour is being revived for a 2005 run. The 27-date tour will kick off with two nights in Rama, Ontario, on July 3rd and 4th, finishing in California on August 14th.

The track list of The Living Room Tour runs as follows:

Disc one:
"Welcome to My Living Room"
"Peace in the valley"
"Love Makes the World"
"Now and Forever"
"Where You Lead I Will Follow" with Louise Goffin
"Lay Down My Life"
"Smackwater Jack"
"Wishful Thinking"
Medley ("Take Good Care of My Baby," "It Might as Well Rain Until September," "Go Away Little Girl," "I'm Into Something Good," "Hey Girl," "One Fine Day," "Will You Love Me Tomorrow")

Disc two:
"Loving You Forever" with Gary Burr
"It's Too Late"
"So Far Away"
"Sweet Seasons"
"Pleasant Valley Sunday"
"Being at War With Each Other"
"I Feel the Earth Move"
"(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman"
"You've Got a Friend"

I would love Carole King to do her living room tour through the year.
Any chance of this happening?
