Beneath Augusta Working on New CD

Published: 2005-05-26
Toronto rock outfit Beneath Augusta is working on the follow-up to 2004's You Gotta Come Down Sometime. "Right now we are focused on writing some new material and eventually recording," said drummer Jeff Alls. This past spring the band wrapped up a tour of western Canada, which included four shows in Alberta.

Born out of the ashes of indie band Mellonova, Beneath Augusta signed with indie label Aporia Records in 2004 and released its debut full-length album that summer. Along with Alls, the band is made up of Matthew Cromarty (guitars), Clay Jones (bass), Searaig Hopgood (keyboards), and Michael Brennan (guitars).

The group recently played the fourth annual Over the Top Fest in Toronto on May 7th at the Bagel with fellow performers Amanda Rogers and Hexes and Ohs. The band's next gig is the North by Northeast (NXNE) showcase June 9th in Toronto.
