Indigo Girls Uncover 'Rarities', Tour

Published: 2005-05-20
Early-nineties favourites the Indigo Girls will remind the world they're still going strong with the release of Rarities next month. Due to hit shelves on June 14th through Sony Music, Rarities will contain, uh, rarities, b-sides, and previously unreleased material from the folk-rock duo.

As well as original tunes, Rarities will come complete with covers of songs by cult heroes the Grateful Dead, rocker-turned-crooner Rod Stewart, punk legends the Clash, piano man Elton John, and singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt.

For the curious, the 18 tracks of Rarities line up as follows:

"I Don't Wanna Talk About It"
"Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters"
"Let Me Go Easy"
"Free of Hope"
"Shed Your Skin"
"Never Stop"
"Uncle John's Band"
"I'll Give You My Skin" featuring Michael Stipe
"Free in You"
"Point Hope"
"Ramblin' Round"
"Cold as Ice" (Foreigner cover)
"Walk Your Valley"
"It Won't Take Long"

To support the release and to please their many fans, the Indigo Girls will kick off a North American tour on June 7th in North Carolina. The tour continues all the way through July until the two-piece hits New Jersey on the 24th. Canada will receive the Girls near the tail end of their tour, once on the coast and once on the prairies:

July 21, Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom
July 22, Calgary, AB - Calgary Folk Music Festival
