Deftones Working on Fifth Studio Album

Published: 2005-05-17
Hard rock band the Deftones are at work on a new album for release late this year or early next. The band is in Los Angeles working with Canadian producer Bob Ezrin (Jane's Addiction, KISS, Pink Floyd) on the follow-up to 2003's self-titled release.

The band started recording in a studio in Connecticut earlier this year but abandoned the sessions when the results were not satisfactory to the band members. They headed to L.A. with Ezrin to re-track most of the songs and to come up with new material. Possible song titles include "Diamond" and "Buffalo."

As well as the new studio album, the Deftones will also soon release a b-side and rarities album, which will come with a DVD of live shows, rare footage, and interviews.
