U2 Films Chicago Gigs for Tour DVD

Published: 2005-05-17
The word on the street is that the many U2 fans Ticketmaster left ticketless can now resolve their issue with the ticket seller. Sort of. The international superstars filmed two of their four scheduled nights in Chicago, all to be transferred to DVD for your home viewing pleasure.

Director Hamish Hamilton will be behind the as-yet-untitled release; he's also responsible for the last two U2 DVDs, Elevation: Live From Boston, and U2 Go Home: Live From Slane Castle. The band hasn't yet said when it will release the film from the How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb tour.

According to the play lists on U2's official site (www.u2.com) for the two Chicago shows, the DVD should have a fairly good mix of old and new material. In addition to recent songs like "Miracle Drug," "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own," and "Vertigo," the band played "Beautiful Day" and "Elevation," even reaching back for "Where The Streets Have No Name" and "One."
