Wilco to Record New Album This Summer

Published: 2005-05-16
This August the country rockers of Wilco are heading back to the studio to record the follow-up to 2004's A Ghost is Born. The band's singer, Jeff Tweedy, explained in a recent online article that he's been listening to a lot of dance music lately, so the new album will be a departure from Wilco's usual style. The band is kicking off its summer tour May 28th in Washington with fellow bands My Morning Jacket and the Roots.

The tour ends June 29th in Buffalo, New York, with the only Canadian stop coming June 28th in Montreal at the Metropolis. Sam Jones, who directed the 2002 Wilco documentary I Am Trying to Break Your Heart, captured the band's four shows at Chicago's Vic Theatre. A live DVD is due out this year.
