He's barely out of high schoolÖ wait, no, he's still in high school, and he's already opened for the likes of John Mayer and Maroon 5óoh, to be 17 and supremely talented. Saskatchewan's Kyle Riabko will continue the ride this week as he tours with blues rocker George Thorogood. Having kicked off in Prince George, B.C., this past Saturday, the jaunt will see the pair play six Canadian cities together in total.
Following the tour's wrap, Riabko will make a turn south and hang out in the States for the first half of June before returning to the Great White North to play a series of western Canadian jazz festivals. Go to www.kyleriabko.com to keep tabs on the young blues rocker.
All of this singing and guitar playing comes in support of Riabko's debut album, Before I Speak, which features a guest spot from rocker Liz Phair. Releasing it just a few weeks ago on April 28th, Riabko recorded the 15-track album with producers Matt Wallace (the Replacements, Sugarcult) and Chris Burke-Gaffney (Chantal Kreviazuk).
