'Six Feet Under' Compiles Indie Gold

Published: 2005-05-13
While The OC holds the official title for television show with the best soundtrack, the HBO series Six Feet Under doesn't make too poor a showing. Entering its fourth season on the air, the dark comedy will put out its second compilation of music on June 21st, just a few weeks after the show starts up again.

Featuring a healthy mix of indie pop favourites and praised mainstream tunes, Six Feet Under: Everything Ends will also feature brand-new tracks from some of the world's buzziest bands. Both Interpol and Canada's own Arcade Fire have supplied tracks so new that they don't even have titles yetÖ which also means they're exclusive to the compilation.

OC stalwarts Death Cab For Cutie contribute "Transatlanticism" to Everything Ends. Coldplay's tune "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is sandwiched between songs by Nina Simone and Sia, with "Lucky" from Radiohead sitting in the middle of the mix.

The track list on Six Feet Under: Everything Ends reads like this:

Nina Simone - "Feelin' Good"
Coldplay - "A Rush of Blood to the Head"
Sia - "Breathe Me"
Phoenix - "Everything Is Everything"
Irma Thomas - "Time Is On My Side"
Radiohead - "Lucky"
Jem - "Amazing Life" (exclusive new track)
Bebel Gilberto - "Aganju (The Latin Project Remix Edit)"
Interpol - [currently untitled] (exclusive new track)
Caesars - "Don't Fear The Reaper" (exclusive new track)
Death Cab For Cutie - "Transatlanticism"
The Arcade Fire - [currently untitled] (exclusive new track)
