The Cripple Creek Fairies Working on New CD

Published: 2005-05-12
Calgary's Cripple Creek Fairies are in the studio working on the follow-up to 2004's EP and comic book The Fist. The band told Soul Shine they will record the new album in mid-June. One of the members is getting married in July, so the band will be on hiatus until the honeymoon is over.

Originally from the small town of Mullet, Alberta, CCF's brand of in-your-face, high volume rock and roll has earned them opening slots on tours with Tricky Woo, Nashville Pussy, The Supersuckers, and Seattle's Mudhoney. Because of a post 9/11 mix-up at an airport involving their equipment, Mudhoney personnel were once forced to borrow CCF's instruments for a show in Calgary.

CCF recently played with all-woman rocker band The Donnas last month in Calgary. The band's next gig will also be in Calgary, on May 14th at the Tropicana. They plan on touring across Canada to support their new disc.
