Toronto's Royal City Compiling a B-Side Album

Published: 2005-05-12
Toronto country rock band Royal City is working on a B-side album they hope to release sometime this year. According to Royal City's label, Three Gut Records, the band has tons of songs that have never made it to any album.

Three Gut Records also informed Soul Shine that Royal City is currently on break, since singer Aaron Riches is in the U.S. working on his Ph.D. and will be moving to the U.K. to finish it up. As of now no tours are planned for the foreseeable future.

In addition to Riches, Royal City is made up Jim Guthrie, Simon Osborne, and Lonnie James. The band has been compared to a legendary cluster of acts including Neil Young, Crosby Stills and Nash, and The Buffalo Springfield. Their highly praised debut album, At Rush Hour the Cars, was released in 2000, while their last album, Little Heart's Ease, came out in the summer of 2004.
