Rolling Stones Confirm World Tour, Announce Dates

Published: 2005-05-11
The Rolling Stones have finally confirmed rumours of a world tour, announcing their plans yesterday in New York. Unofficial schedules had the Stones pencilled in for four Canadian dates, and luckily the number held true.

Ottawa, Moncton, and Calgary all managed to make the itinerary. Instead of playing Vancouver, however, the four-piece will make a return to Toronto in September, where they'll also be rehearsing for the tour. There are a total of 32 stops scheduled for the North American leg, with plans for South America, the Far East, and Europe to be announced at a later date.

Tickets for the gigs range from $60 to $350, but that won't stop them from selling out in mere minutes. Many of the shows are set to go on sale this weekend, including Calgary, so get to Ticketmaster before it's too lateˇespecially in case this really is the Stones' final tour.

Not only will the Rolling Stones be touring for the first time since their 2003 Forty Licks tour, but they'll be touring in support of new material, off an album that's as yet untitled. The band hasn't done that since the release of Bridges To Babylon in the late '90s.
