A.A. Sound System Starting Work on Next Album

Published: 2005-05-09
Edmonton trio A.A. Sound System will start recording the follow-up to 2004's Lily Plain, You're Hardly Poor in June at bandleader and guitarist Ayla Brook's farm.

As well as Brook, A.A. Sound System is made up of bassist Lane Arndt and drummer Marek Tyler. The band formed in 2000 in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and headed to Edmonton where high school buddies Brook and Tyler recruited multi-instrumentalist Arndt. They played their first show in 2002 and recorded their debut album with Riverdale Recorders' Scott Franchuck.

According to the band's website, this summer will also see a tour of eastern Canada. No dates are set yet. The band's next show is in Edmonton on May 12th at Seedy's, with Derek Anderson and the Avenue String Band.
