Rolling Stones Rumoured To Play Offbeat Canadian Cities

Published: 2005-05-09
As previously announced on Soul Shine, rumours and whispers surrounding a Rolling Stones world tour for 2005-2006 are building, and the latest news is that Canada won't be overlooked in any way, shape, or form. Word is that The Rolling Stones will be hitting at least four Canadian cities, and not the ones most people would probably think of.

Sometime between the rumoured August 21st kick off in Boston's Fenway Park and the end of 2005, The Rolling Stones are said to be playing the cities of Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, and yes, even Moncton at the Magnetic Hill Concert Site. Remember this is still very much in rumour form, and nothing official has been announced.

Other things being said about the impending tour is that The Rolling Stones will be the first to play London's Wembley Stadium when it's reopened in 2006, and that this will indeed be the band's farewell tour, as the members get closer to senior citizen-dom. The 2005-2006 world tour will come in support of the legendary rockers' upcoming album, which they have been working on with producer Don Was.

Let's hope they hold true÷The Rolling Stones' rumoured Canadian stops:

August, Ottawa, ON - Lansdowne Park
September, Moncton, NB - Magnetic Hill Concert Site
September, Calgary, AB - Pengrowth Saddledome
October/November, Vancouver, BC - GM Place
