k.d. lang's Juno Performance Available For Download

Anyone who watched the 2005 Juno Awards knows that k.d. lang's show stopping performance was the highlight of the event. Receiving a two-minute standing ovation after her rendition of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", found on her Hymns of the 49th Parallel disc, lang stepped back on stage once again to fill in Neil Young's big boots.

Young, who suffered a brain aneurysm just weeks earlier, wasn't able to attend the April 3rd award ceremony in Winnipeg, so lang stepped up and sang his classic song "Helpless" (also on Hymns). Now both of those spectacularly performed live tracks will be available to purchase as digital downloads, exclusively through iTunes.

Both "Hallelujah" and "Helpless" will become available through the download service next week, on Tuesday May 10th, for the cost of 99 cents each. To demonstrate the power k.d. lang's Juno performance had, sales of Hymns of the 49th Parallel increased by a monstrous 350% following the event.
