Actor Val Kilmer May Record Album

Published: 2005-05-04
Following in the footsteps of fellow actors Minnie Driver, Juliette Lewis, Russell Crow, and William Shatner, eccentric actor Val Kilmer is in discussions to record an album. In an online report, Kilmer has supposedly enlisted Blur singer and Gorillaz member Damon Albarn to help him out. The two reportedly met at a party and struck up a friendship after Kilmer revealed he was a huge Blur fan.

Kilmer asked for Albarn's assistance after he heard The Gorillaz latest album for the first time. The two have reportedly met a few times to discuss plans. Val Kilmer is not a professional musician but his imitation of Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's 1991 film "The Doors" was uncanny. Kilmer sang many of the songs featured in the movie forgoing the option of lip synching to Morrison's vocals.

Kilmer is currently starring in a West End Production of The Postman Always Rings Twice. The show is playing at London's Playhouse Theatre.
