For the next two weeks, the nation's capital will be taken over by artists and performers from Alberta. Over 600 artists will perform in more than 95 events held at 19 venues. The event started on April 28th and runs until May 10 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and will feature artists involved in theatre, culinary arts, music, literary arts, comedy, opera and ballet, film, visual and media arts, and dance.
Alberta Scene is a celebration of the province hitting the century mark this year. The event gives an opportunity for Canadians to view the culture and heritage of Alberta. Notable Alberta musical artists playing the event include country star Terri Clark, former Big Sugar singer/guitarist Gordie Johnson, roots country act the Corb Lund Band, Calgary hard rockers Chixdiggit, veteran punk band SNFU, Edmonton punk band Choke and country artist Adam Gregory.
Other than punk, country and rock artists, Alberta Scene will offer various artists with classical, jazz, blues, folk, world, and hip hop backgrounds. To get more information about events and tickets visit http://www.albertascene.ca
