The debut full-length from 80s-inspired electronic rockers The Floor has found its feet and will be available across the vast land of Canada on May 24th. Called Personnel, the album puts the band's removed, yet danceable music front and centre. Not only is Personnel the very first release from The Floor, but it's also the first release for brand new Nrmls Wlcm Records (that'd be Normals Welcome Records).
In addition to putting out their debut album, the Edmonton quartet is equally prepared to party it up. In celebration of Personnel, The Floor will play a CD Release Party in not just their hometown, but will head southwards to hit Calgary as well. Those who happen to reside on the opposite side of the country will have their chance to check out the band as well, though a bit later in the year.
Making the long, but sought-after trip to NXNE this year, The Floor will participate in a Nrmls Wlcm showcase on June 9th. And, according to Six Shooter Records, there are some master plans for The Floor to spend July rocking and rolling on a proper cross-Canada tour, so check back for constant updates on that project.
Download some rather good tracks from The Floor, including "Isolene, I" and "Drown Inside", at the band's official site at www.thefloor.ca.
