Published: 2005-05-02
Ex-Jane's Addiction front man Perry Farrell is finishing the touches on an album with his new band Satellite Party. The band consists of Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) and Gabriele Corcos. According to the website, the recording sessions for the new album have been done with a combination of live playing and programming. The album is a mix of rock, electronic and hip-hop and is to be released in 2006. The new band is set to appear at Lollapalooza in Chicago this year.

One of the leaders of the alternative rock explosion of the 90's, Farrell fronted such groups as Psi Com, Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros. Farrell also founded the seminal touring festival Lollapalooza, which featured alternative acts of the day. The festival ran from 1991 to 1997 then was resurrected in 2003.

Jane's Addiction broke up for the third time in 2004 with members Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney going on to form The Panic Channel. Farrell is also scheduled to play the Coachella Festival in California this year under his pseudo name DJ Peretz.
