Wilco Play Montreal, Plan Live Release

Published: 2005-05-02
Jeff Tweedy and his celebrated band of indie rockers, otherwise known as Wilco, recently announced a bout of North American dates, and as luck would have it, Canada made a showing on the calendar. Unfortunately it's just one showing, but at least it's something.

After getting things into gear with a performance at Coachella this past Saturday (April 30th), Wilco will hit 13 North American cities over the course of May and June. Montreal is one of the last scheduled stops on the spring run, with the alt.country rockers hitting Metropolis on June 28th.

Those who won't be able to make the gig needn't worry too much, as it sounds as if Wilco will be making a live recording of their tour in support of A Ghost Is Born. Wilco are set to play Chicago's Vic Theatre for four nights in a row, all without an opener to hinder prime recording time. An official email message about the Chicago gigs from the band reads: "Tape and or film will definitely be rolling. Okay, you've been warned. Don't be late."

Wilco's upcoming Canadian stop:

June 28, Montreal, QC - Metropolis
